Massive Dust Storm Puts A Damper On My Golfing Plans

So I was planning on playing either tomorrow or the following day, but it looks like I'll have to put it off for a few more days than expected. If you haven't seen the pictures, Phoenix got hit with a massive dust storm yesterday which left most of the valley under a blanket of fine dirt.

When I first heard about monsoon season, I laughed. Living in Miami for so many years, I am used to storms. Real storms. Hurricanes. During this time of year, we know that it is going to rain around 3:00PM everyday for about an hour. These downpours can leave the streets flooded in some areas, so when my friends told me that people get all worked up about tenth of an inch of rain, I was like whatever. Bring it on.

Be careful what you wish for...When it was all over, the pool that you saw my Great Dane swimming in was full of dirt, and leaves, and bugs, and lawn chairs, and lots of other stuff. I couldn't see to the bottom it was so dirty. The back patio had a layer of dust a half an inch deep. It looked like something out of one of those apocalyptic movies. My wife and others said it was the worse they had ever seen.

I cleaned up the backyard but it is going to take some effort to get the pool back to its once pristine condition. Which brings me back to golf. The air quality is going to horrible for the next few days so meteorologists are warning people about the dangers of being outside for long periods of time. Looks like I'll be doing my drills inside for the next few days. Have a great round and always hit your target.
